ContentKEEPER Web Filtering System - Overview FreeStone Software, Inc. is pleased to be the US distributor of ContentKEEPER , developed by ContentKeeper Technologies, innovative leaders in Internet filtering and security.
It is based on the architecture of an OSI Layer Two Transparent Ethernet Bridge and, as such, it is inherently fast, secure and robust in its capabilities. Because of its architecture and in-line network placement, ContentKEEPER provides network traffic visibility, control of bandwidth utilization and protection against malicious code that is superior to pure-play, OSI Layer 7 URL filtering or sniffing products. Network traffic in products based on Layer 7 designs must traverse additional layers of the network, TCP/IP stack, etc., introducing additional overhead to latency, system requirements and resources; while lacking visibility of many of the new, often malicious protocols designed to run under the purview of traditional filters. ContentKEEPER uses a Global Control List containing tens of millions of URLs, as well as a leading Artificial Intelligence and Real Time Analysis engine to deliver an award-winning yet cost-effective filtering and network security solution that is second to none. ContentKEEPER provides a scaleable, fault tolerant solution which fully satisfies the most demanding technical and operational requirements of large-scale Enterprise and Government network environments. ContentKEEPER currently provides the world's most sophisticated content management tool for government, academic and enterprise clients of any size. ContentKEEPER is based upon technology that uses the best features of Control List URL filtering, enhanced by Dynamic Analysis and Filtering Controls. ContentKEEPER monitors, manages, controls and secures all web traffic. It fully examines new and/or unknown sites in real time as the data passes through the appliance. Guided by flexible and adaptive policy-based content filtering rules, ContentKEEPER manages and controls downloads, protocols and desktop access to web content.
ContentKEEPER FilteringThe most important requirement of any Internet filtering solution is to ensure the exclusion lists are current and of the highest quality. ContentKEEPER has the world's most advanced and sophisticated method for maintaining and ensuring currency and accuracy of its control list - it's called " Closed Loop Collaborative Filtering™" . Collaborative Filtering means that all ContentKEEPER Appliances maintain contact with a centralized Datacenter, and each appliance Control List is automatically updated on an HOURLY basis twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week via ContentKEEPER 's encoded, encrypted and compressed TrickleFeed Ô Technology update mechanism. ContentKEEPER 's AUTOMATED CLOSED LOOP COLLABORATIVE Currency - Each ContentKEEPER appliance has both a Control List containing tens of millions of URLS as well as a real time AI engine. The real time engine allows ContentKEEPER appliances to discover, analyze, and categorize new or previously unseen websites in real time. If a new site is discovered with inappropriate content, ContentKEEPER will automatically block that site locally within 60 seconds while adding it to its list of newly discovered non-business sites. Each hour, the ContentKEEPER appliance calls into the Datacenter to download all URLs recently discovered by other ContentKEEPER appliances around the world. During that process any new sites discovered locally are automatically and anonymously uploaded to the Datacenter for further in-depth analysis and verification. If verified, these new URLs are then added to the master Global Control List and included for download by every other ContentKEEPER appliance in the world during the next hourly call-in cycle. Quality - The same Collaborative Web Filtering technology is used to ensure the quality of the Global Control List. As ContentKEEPER administrators discover any sites that may have been misclassified, they simply re-classify the site locally. The local change is executed instantly and permanently and the URL is then, optionally, added to a re-classification request list to be transmitted anonymously to the Datacenter for manual analysis and re-classification. After re-classification the change is added to the Global Control List and transmitted to every other ContentKEEPER appliance globally during the next hourly update cycle. The remainder of the website addresses the key features of ContentKEEPER , including:
No Obligation Evaluations The Advanced Reporting Module (ARM) is also available for evaluation and represents a popular option for more sophisticated reporting requirements.
